Proceedings of
Israel Association for Theoretical Linguistics 20,
Bar Ilan University

edited by Yehuda N. Falk

The twentieth annual conference of the Israel Association for Theoretical Linguistics was held at the new Gonda Brain Science Building at Bar Ilan University in Ramat Gan on June 23-24, 2004. IATL is grateful to Bar Ilan for stepping in and offering to host the conference out of turn, and to the Gonda Center for providing the venue. Susan Rothstein and the rest of the Bar Ilan crowd put on a great show. Thanks also to the conference committee and the participants

The twentieth conference is an important milestone and illustrates the continuing vitality of theoretical linguistics in Israel. There is something very symbolic about a milestone conference being held in a new center devoted to brain studies, as IATL has seen an increase in work on psycholinguistic matters in the past few years. As a founding member of IATL, I look forward eagerly to the next twenty tears.

This is the proceedings volume for the conference. All the papers that were presented at the conference are listed in the Table of Contents. For those papers which were submitted to the proceedings, there are links to short web-page abstracts and to the full papers in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format. Adobe Acrobat Reader can be downloaded free from here.

The editor would like to thank everyone who submitted a copy of the paper for the proceedings.
